Our story
From a borrowed shed to twelve lines on the bar
Anvil & Hop started in 2016 with a 50-litre kit, a borrowed shed in Holbeck and a stubborn idea: that proper beer should be drunk where it's made. Two house moves and one very long weekend of plumbing later, we landed in Forge Yard, an old ironworks on Water Lane, and never looked back.
Everything you drink here is brewed a few feet from where you're standing. We brew in 500-litre batches, kept small on purpose, so the range stays fresh and we can keep playing. Hard water, soft hops, and a brewer who genuinely cannot leave a recipe alone.
